Korea Triplive ("the app", "we") is a travel companion for visitors in Korea. We care about your privacy and keep data collection to the minimum needed to make the app work. This policy explains what data is involved and how it is handled.
Data stored on your device
Your trips, accommodations, notes, schedules, and any photos you add are stored locally on your device (in an on-device database). This information is not uploaded to us by default and stays on your phone until you delete it or uninstall the app.
Photos and camera
With your permission, the app accesses your camera and photo library so you can add photos to your trip records and scan booking screenshots. Screenshot text recognition runs on your device. Photos are not uploaded to our servers.
Location
If you grant permission, the app uses your location only while the app is in use to attach your current location to a trip record. The app does not track your location in the background.
Advertising
The free version of the app displays ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as an advertising identifier) to serve and measure ads. On iOS, ad tracking is governed by Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt — you can decline, and the app will still work with non-personalized ads. See Google's policy: policies.google.com/privacy. Purchasing PRO removes ads.
Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases and manage your PRO entitlement, using an anonymous app-user identifier and purchase/receipt data. We do not receive your payment card details. See revenuecat.com/privacy.
Third-party services used for features
To provide certain features, the app sends limited requests to external services:
- Kakao Local API — when you search for a hotel or place, your search text and/or coordinates are sent to Kakao to return Korean addresses.
- Open-Meteo — approximate city or coordinates are sent to retrieve weather.
- Exchange-rate API — currency codes are sent to retrieve conversion rates.
- Push notifications — if enabled, the app registers a push token and may sync the country codes of your trips to our service so we can send you relevant travel notifications.
Usage statistics
The app may send anonymous, aggregate usage information (for example, that the app was opened) to help us understand overall usage and improve the app. This does not identify you personally.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not require an account or your name to use the app.
- We do not track your location in the background.
Data retention and deletion
Data stored on your device remains until you delete individual items in the app, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling the app removes its locally stored data.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
